This year we wanted to present you with our first-ever artist merch collaboration : The BUMP 2024 x Wenting Li limited edition sweatshirt & tote bags. Wenting is a phenomenal Tkaronto/Toronto-based illustrator and muralist, morphing the familiar and the fantastical to birth vivid metaphors of life. BUMP has had the honour to invite Wenting as a muralist in 2022 and again this year as one half of the duo Earbugz Collective.Â
Her design brings to BUMP two figures who are future explorers uncovering artefacts of contemporary mural-making buried under the sands of time. The design poses the question: how will public art evolve and be reinterpreted over time? The sleeve drawings are excavations of the objects found on the front, while the back catalogues the items from the sleeves. The objects find themselves appearing in a swirl on our matching tote bag! Her experience with the festival has allowed her the insight to illustrate effortlessly the interplay of tools and community that form the backbone of BUMP Festival.
