We will be premiering BUMP\u2019s first documentary film by FOREIGNERZ, In This Moment, about Calgary based muralist Alex Kwong and the creation of his mural for the 2022 BUMP Festival. In premiering this special film, we will also be showcasing the work of nine local artists that Kwong has curatevd to be a part of this event, as well as throw a party to celebrate a year of incredible art in this city.\u00a0\nBUMP Cinematheque will be free entry with RSVP, will include one free drink for all attendees and will have complimentary appetizers available for our guests. Found within high-elevation forests in Western Canada, whitebark pine seeds are nutritional foods for birds, squirrels and bears; their growth influences snowmelt, soil development and the habitat conditions of other plants. When the health of whitebark pine suffers, so too do the species and ecosystems they support. The species-at-risk is in decline across Banff, Jasper, Kootenay, Yoho, Mount Revelstoke, Glacier and Waterton Lakes national parks.\u00a0\nAfter a nationwide call for artists to paint this mural and a careful decision making process between BUMP and Parks Canada, Mackenzie Brown, an IndigiQueer Nehiyaw iskwew (Cree Woman) artist was selected to paint this mural.
