Attendees of the BUMP Urban Art Conference (Aug 8-9) will be immersed in vibrant discussions and workshops led by influential artists, creatives, and thought leaders. Among the engaging panels, “Public Art, Participation, and the Shifting Urban Landscape” will feature notable figures from Calgary who will explore the transformative potential of public art in fostering vibrant communities. In “Revolution, Liberation, and Change” artists JUMU Monster, Dan Cardinal and Harvey Nichol will delve into the power of public art as a catalyst for social change and liberation.

In “How Do We Brand a City?” we look at the intersection of design, art & the soul of a ‘place’ to examine strategies behind crafting compelling city identities. “Behind the Tag” brings Graffiti Art heavyweights RUST MAGIC to the front to tell us about the ways this art form continues to shift the public art landscape. Workshops “Public Art 101” with Dawn van de Schoot and “Unveiling Urban Art: Methods of A Muralist” by Kat Simmers will offer practical guidance on transitioning studio practices to public spaces and mastering mural techniques.
