BUMP Festival Launches Year Round Guided Mural Tours!

After seven years of creating exciting, contemporary & unique public art in Calgary, we are excited to be launching our new Mural Tours program on March 2. Calgarians and visitors to the city alike will now be able to explore the amazing collection through year round guided mural tours led by the festival.
Following the massive success of last summer’s mural tours, which garnered significant community interest, we recognized the demand for a more permanent avenue to showcase the city’s burgeoning public art scene. The BUMP Mural Tours program emerges as a response to this growing appetite for artistic engagement, providing locals and visitors alike with an opportunity to delve deeper into the stories, inspirations, and impacts behind Calgary’s vibrant murals.

Our inaugural offering, the BUMP CLASSIC Tour, kicks off this March, inviting participants to embark on a captivating journey through some of the festival’s most iconic murals. From there, additional unique guided tour routes will be introduced, each offering a distinct perspective on Calgary’s evolving mural landscape.
Through the BUMP Mural Tours program, attendees can expect to gain a deeper understanding of the artistic vision behind each mural, uncover the stories and inspirations that drive their creation, and explore the transformative impact of public art on local neighbourhoods.
As Calgary continues to embrace its identity as a hub for artistic expression, BUMP Festival remains dedicated to fostering a culture of creativity and community engagement. This initiative also signifies a partnership between BUMP Festival and Travel Alberta, as the creation of the BUMP Mural Tours program was made possible through funding from the Travel Alberta Innovation Grant.
