This year’s outdoor cinema event invites visitors to share in the fantastic & surreal experience of watching the 2021 epic film DUNE by Denis Villeneuve under the stars. BUMP Festival prides itself on unique, contemporary and artistic programming, and choosing to show this film falls under our festival’s vision to transform and light up the City in thought provoking ways. 

We’re in September folks, so please bring sweaters, blankets and chairs for a comfortable viewing experience. Please also bring your own snacks & refreshments 🙂 Invite your friends and spread the word, let’s celebrate the end of summer together.

Dune (titled onscreen as Dune: Part One) is a 2021 American epic science fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve. It is the first of a two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert. Set in the distant future, the film follows Paul Atreides as his family, the noble House Atreides, is thrust into a war for the deadly and inhospitable desert planet Arrakis. The ensemble cast includes Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac and Zendaya. The film was nominated for ten awards at the 94th Academy Awards including Best Picture, winning six, and received numerous other accolades. It has been widely considered as one of the best science-fiction films of the 2020s and of the 21st century. A direct sequel, Dune: Part Two, is set to be released on November 3, 2023.
