Sterling likes to explore three dimensional shapes and unique perspectives with clean angles and vibrant colours. His work is inspired by a number of hard-edge artists, past and present, including a handful of past BUMP muralists. Sterling found solace in art after the loss of his father in 2020 which has now grown into a full-on passion for painting. He is always on the lookout for interesting objects and structures and for different ways to bring out the depth of his work. Sterling is a born and raised Calgarian, when he is not painting he is out riding one of his many bicycles or enjoying one of Calgary’s many craft breweries. This is Sterling’s first public art piece and he could not be more excited to add his touch to the streets of Calgary this year with the Beltline Urban Mural Project.
