‘Sarah Slaughter’ is a Calgary-based visual artist whose practice is a reflection of her wide open perspective and respect for multi-disciplinary creation. Immersed in a world where art is everything, she distinguishes herself by her versatility and fearless approach to design and ingenuity.
Sarah’s style emphasizes bright colours, strong lines, and takes inspiration from nature and the growing city around her. She has previously done outdoor murals for The City of Red Deer in 2021, Sunalta Wildflower Community Garden in 2020, and the The Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society in 2019. In 2020 she created a 544 square foot mural for BUMP, along the 12 Ave cycle path.
In 2022, BUMP partnered with the Developmental Disabilities Resource Centre of Calgary (DDRC) to celebrate their 70th anniversary, and help promote a more inclusive Calgary with the creation of new mural. Sarah Slaughter was selected as the artist to lead this special project. You can read more about it here.
