S.T. Purtill

Calgary, Canada

S.T. Purtill is an emerging artist experimenting with new media art and installation art. His practice is rooted in his software development experience, resulting in the use of tools like 3D printing, LED lighting, and interactive programming. His aspiration is to create large, interactive installations in the public realm.

His artwork explores the intersection of the real and imagined, and speculative design narratives discovered through physical artifacts. Purtill aims to craft immersive experiences that invite viewers to discover deeper meanings as they explore his work. But really, He’s just creating the beauty I want to see in the world.

S.T.Purtill is one of three Muster Point 2025 artists who selected for BUMP’s spring programmed. For his installation he brought us the The NEEEP (Non-Earthling Emergency Evacuation Plan), an immersive and interactive art installation created with some help from “his little alien collaborators.” This multimedia experience was a sci-fi retro-futuristic exploration about preparing for the end of the world.
