Katie Allard

Calgary, Canada

Katie (she/her) is a multidisciplinary Cree artist living in Mohkinstsis (Calgary) and is a resident
printmaker at Burnt Toast Studio. She received a BFA in Painting from the Alberta University of the
Arts in 2017 and has since obtained two design diplomas from Lethbridge College.
While the core of her art practice revolves around general themes of mental health, it is currently
focused on learning more about her indigenous heritage and documenting how it influences her
mental health, her sense of belonging, and her sense of community.

When she is not working on her art she enjoys many hobbies including birdwatching, camping,
watching scary movies with her dog, building 3D models in Blender, and panicking about the
horrors.
