Emma Guido (she/her) is an illustrator and painter based in Central Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Design in Illustration from AUArts with a minor in Animation. In her first 5 years of freelance illustration, Emma has had the pleasure to work on some unique projects like creating artwork for public art, apparel, childrens books, beverage labels, and theatre posters. Her illustrations explore real and imaginary creatures and landscapes, often returning to themes of wonder, childhood, and nature. In her compositions she rearranges elements of the natural, deviating from local colours and shapes, leaning towards the surreal. She loves working in traditional mediums to create vibrant, dreamy palettes. Some of her imagery remains grounded in reality while others are more distorted, but all of her work shares maximalist qualities and whimsical details.
