Chelsey Dyer

Calgary, Canada

Chelsey Dyer is a designer and artist based in Mohkinstsis, where she spent the last decade exploring design and illustration and their connection to storytelling and community. She approaches her work with a simple philosophy: How do we make this more fun and colourful? Nostalgic to her core, Chelsey draws inspiration from quippy lyrics and clever wordplay, everyday moments, and folk tales. Her style is influenced by mid-century design and record album art, vintage motel and roadside signs, and the playful, colourful patterns of the 90s Lisa Frank era. Driven by her curious heart, Chelsey has explored everything from teaching typography and creating custom type work to more traditional methods like illustration and mural painting. Like many creatives, she constantly grapples with the age-old problem: too many ideas, never enough time.
