The Ground Up Graffiti Jam & Block Party Arrives August 10!

This summer, we’re throwing one of our biggest parties of the year in partnership with Foundation Collective and you’re invited! The Ground Up Graffiti Jam & Block Party arrives at BUMP Festival on Sunday, August 10, transforming a massive Crescent Heights lot into a full-day street takeover celebrating everything that makes Calgary’s underground culture thrive.
At BUMP Festival, graffiti is at the root of what we do. It’s where ‘public art’ really begins – raw, unsanctioned, vibrant expressions of identity, resistance, and beauty painted onto the bones of cities all over the world. Over the years, BUMP has worked to amplify graffiti and street art in Calgary through murals, installations, and urban art events that invite the public to reimagine their environment. The Ground Up Graffiti Jam is a tribute to this spirit, and we are thrilled to be partnering with Foundation Collective to bring this day-long immersion in live graffiti, hip hop, and community energy to life.
Come party in the sun with us: sip cold Establishment Brewing beers, dance to nonstop DJ sets, watch top-tier graffiti crews paint in real time, and cheer on local talent as dancers battle it out on the pavement and MCs light up the cypher stage. It’s gritty, joyful, and completely free.

This is a chance to engage with the roots of street culture, not just as a spectator, but as part of the moment. Whether you’re watching murals go up in real-time, learning to paint a tag, or catching your favourite local rapper live, Ground Up is about being present, loud, and fully immersed in Calgary’s creative street pulse.
