Sip the City: BUMP Festival Cocktails Hit the Menu at Two Iconic Calgary Spots

Sunday August 3, 2025

What happens when two of Calgary’s most imaginative bars team up with BUMP Festival? You get cocktails as layered and expressive as the murals going up on city walls.

This year, we invited two of our favourite local spots — Lonely Mouth and Sweet Loretta, to create original cocktails inspired by the spirit, art, and energy of BUMP Festival 2025. The result? A delicious collision of flavour, memory, and place, available now until August 18.

Lo-fi Garden at Lonely Mouth

Crafted by Bar Supervisor Kristi Hiebert and her team, Lo-fi Garden is a cocktail that hums with intention. Inspired by the mellow rhythm of Lo-fi hip hop, the late great Nujabes, and the meditative complexity of a Japanese garden, this drink blends Pisco, Cocchi Americano, kalamansi, shiso, celery, pineapple, and olive oil into a smooth, soulful sipper. Think Nujabes in a glass – layered, introspective, and totally transportive.

It’s a nod to the festival’s themes of collaboration, calm, and creative possibility and a reminder that artistry can be found not just on a wall, but in a well-balanced pour.

Lonely Mouth is one of Calgary’s finest spots for elevated Japanese-inspired fare, and a proud partner of BUMP Festival. Come for the cocktail, stay for the umami.

Toucan Samo & Ink Blot at Sweet Loretta

Down the block at Sweet Loretta, a venue that channels the grit and glamour of the 1970s — Bar Supervisor & Floor Manager Isabel Konczarek and her team dreamed up two bold offerings.

First up: Toucan Samo, a clarified milk punch infused with the nostalgia of Froot Loops and the legacy of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s early tag, SAMO. With rum as its warm base and a vibrant Fruit Loop King Cube to top it off, this drink is a psychedelic tribute to downtown art history and carefree summer mornings.

For a zero-proof alternative, Ink Blot brings all the colour and creativity of its spirited sibling. Using Seedlip Garden, butterfly pea flower, lemon, and a grapefruit liqueur, it’s a bright, inky homage to the splattered notebooks and chaotic brilliance of the creative process.

Sweet Loretta remains one of the most exciting new venues in the city, and we’re proud to have them as a festival partner.

Come Taste the Art

Both Lo-fi Garden and Toucan Samo (plus Ink Blot) are available now through August 18. Whether you’re heading to a mural tour, panel talk, or just wandering the city, make time to stop by these incredible bars and taste what BUMP Festival feels like, in cocktail form.

This collaboration is about creative energy, shared vision, and what happens when public art spills off the walls and into everyday life.

Cheers to the city.
