OPEN CALL : 2026 BUMP Festival Mural

BUMP Festival Arts Society is excited to announce the open call for mural artists for the 2026 BUMP Festival.
Now entering our 10th year, BUMP has grown into Calgary’s most expansive public art initiative reshaping neighbourhoods through murals, graffiti, installations, and progressive public programming. In 2026, we step into a new chapter as the BUMP Festival Arts Society, a registered charitable organization, strengthening our ability to support artists and deliver meaningful, long-term impact through public art.
To date, BUMP has commissioned 165 murals across Calgary, creating a city-wide visual landscape that reflects a spectrum of voices, aesthetics, and lived experiences. Our murals are created in public, experienced in daily life, and embedded into the evolving identity of the city.
BUMP muralists are the heartbeat of the festival, working across neighbourhoods and on prominent walls throughout Calgary in the month of August to create landmark artworks that invite wonder, dialogue, and connection.
Eligibility
This open call is available to:
- Local, National and International Artists
- Artists working across muralism, graffiti, illustration, and contemporary public art practices
- Emerging to established artists (all career levels are encouraged to apply)
- Applicants may apply to multiple BUMP Festival application streams.
How to Apply

Our application deadline is February 27, 2026 5 PM MST. Applicants are responsible for ensuring their application is received before the deadline. Late submissions will not be considered. Due to the high volume of applications, only successful applicants will be contacted.
