Monday September 30, 2024
We are pleased to present ‘DANCING ANIMALS,’ a remarkable mural by Berlin-based Peruvian artist JUMU Monster marking her Canadian debut. Situated in the heart of the Beltline, this vivid work of art encapsulates the richness of Canada’s biodiversity and is our final 2024 BUMP Mural.
JUMU Monster’s ‘DANCING ANIMALS’ envisions a harmonious coexistence of iconic wildlife within their natural habitat. Central to the composition is a lynx delicately grasping a branch, with an eagle soaring above it. The mural’s intricate decorative elements further accentuate the natural beauty and complexity of the scene. Reflecting on her artistic process, JUMU Monster explains, “I wanted to depict the rich diversity of flora and fauna in Canada. My inspiration comes from the biodiversity that epitomizes this land. Each element, whether it’s the majestic animals or the plants, symbolizes the harmonious coexistence between wildlife and their natural habitat.”
This mural serves as both a celebration of Canada’s natural heritage and a call to action for environmental stewardship. By showcasing the splendor of these emblematic species, JUMU Monster encourages viewers to engage with and contemplate the significance of protecting our shared environment for future generations.
