WORKSHOP : Voices in the Work: Community Engagement Without Compromise

Community Engagement is a large part of working in the public realm, it’s a way of working with members of the public to create a unique artistic experience that reflects the culture of a specific place and time.  But not all artists learn how to engage community effectively or know how to engage community while still maintaining their own artistic voice.  In this workshop we will explore some of the ways of engaging community in the development of an art project, how those types of community engagement can inform the artistic vision of a project and how to ensure you design engagement opportunities that work for your own artistic vision and practice.
